Dr Wai Siene Ng is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Moorfields fellowship trained Glaucoma Surgeon in Cardiff, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and cataract. She provides private specialist care for patients from Cardiff, South Wales and beyond.

Her specialist interests include glaucoma, normal-tension glaucoma, ocular hypertension, narrow angles and angle-closure glaucoma, laser treatment (SLT), glaucoma surgery, cataract surgery and glaucoma second opinions.

She combines specialist clinical practice with research and medical education and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Cardiff University and Ophthalmology Lead for Cardiff University School of Medicine.

I was first diagnosed with severe advance glaucoma in Bahrain in 2019 where my husband and I lived and worked for many years. We retired in 2021 and since then have been under the good care of Ms Wai Siene Ng who has fully explained the full array of treatment options to ‘kick the can down the road’ - her words as this unfortunately is the nature of the disease. Ms Ng ‘s vast knowledge of the condition coupled with her warm personality and sense of humour has instilled in me the hope and confidence that my sight can be maintained at a reasonable level for many years to come.
